Getting Started
Step One: The Intro Session
First and foremost come see us! We offer a free introduction session to anyone who is interested in find out more about our gym and our program. Our intro sessions are always done as a FREE one-on-one personal training session (over a $50 value) but we can accommodate any size group if need be. During your intro session we will explain the way our classes work, what the benefits of our program are, the typical results most people experience, and the ins and outs of what we do. After we get off our soap box and answer any questions you have we will go through a "bite size" CrossFit workout. We'll take you through one of our awesome warm-ups, we'll teach you the movements, explain the workout, and then it's off to the races! The workout will give you a good idea of what a bonafide CrossFit workout will feel like with an experienced CrossFit coach watching over you and by the end of the session you will leave with a little knowledge, a sweaty t-shirt, and an idea if you want to move ahead to the next step.
Step Two: The Beginner's Series
By now you have either completed the Intro and you've decided you're ready to make a positive change to your fitness with us OR you've bypassed any thought entirely because you know or have seen how well CrossFit works and you are rearing to go. Either way we are stoked for you and excited to have you as part of our family. The next step is to learn the form and technique for some of our "foundational" exercises. You learn how to do a wide range of exercise with a serious focus on form. Some things you can expect to learn are: correctly executing a push-up (not to many people know this but most people do push-ups completely wrong!), swing a kettlebell, and nail Olympic lifts like the Snatch and the Jerk. Did we scare you? We were a little nervous too when we were introduced to exercises like that too. The way we see it, perfect form and technique is something you build along your path to your goals, we just want to lay a good foundation for you to build off of. During your Beginner's Series we will have workouts for you to do to help get your body acclimated to the work it's going to be doing. Everyone who has successfully completed our Beginner's Series has always done well in our regular CrossFit classes.
So there are two ways we offer our Beginner's Series to you.
One way is through a class that meets every Wednesday at 4:30pm and every Saturday at 9:00am. The catch with this class is that you must complete one class a week for 4 weeks. That's atleast 4 classes in one month. If you should choose to, you are welcome to come to both classes and encouraged to, but you have to come to one at a minimum.
The second way (and the most recommended) is to complete 3 personal training sessions. These are done at your convenience and can be done any time around our regular CrossFit classes nay day of the week. We recommend this over the class above simply because you can do more in less time and get into our regular classes faster.
The Group Beginner Series is $120 $60 (4:30pm Wednesday and/or 9:00am Saturday) and the Private Beginner's Series is $200 $100 (3 personal training sessions).
Step Three: Group Classes
We deliver CrossFit in small group classes that run at different times throughout the day. Email here for the current schedule. The average class has less than 4 people and we like to keep it that way. It allows us to deliver a higher quality of instruction and gives you much more feedback and personal attention. The classes run one hour and have dedicated periods that allow for instruction and feedback sessions. The group starts the workout together and everyone goes at their own pace. This usually gives some people anxiety. That is completely normal and understandable but when you're sucking wind and struggling with your own workout you don't pay attention to anyone else (sometimes even the coach!). We don't ever judge anyone on their abilities or limitations. We do judge people based off a continuous lack of effort (we all have a bad day here and there), an unwillingness to try hard, and cockiness; we crush these people and send them back to where they came from if they cannot be "rehabilitated" (we keep our house clean).
So if you have a willingness to recreate yourself, loose a few pounds, or just go somewhere that will get your mind off your worries in a productive way; look no further, you have found your destination.
